ABOUT "TAISHO"
Taisho district in Osaka city is a triangular island surrounded by rivers and the sea.Kizugawa river flows in the east and south,Iwasaki canal and Shirimugawa flow in the west,and Osaka bay is at the west side of the district.Taisho district was a center of marine transportation and supported the economy of Osaka in Edo period(1603-1867).After the Meiji period(1868~) spinning factories and dockyards concentrated in the district,and it became a nucleated city of Hanshin Industrial Zone.You cannot enter the district without crossing the bridges and ferry boats still continue to exist for transportation.Taisho is also called “Little Okinawa” and you can enjoy authentic Okinawa local cuisine.This unique and attractive town is Taisho.
●HOW TO USE THIS MAP & OSAKA TAISHO LOCAL MAP CARD
We made a local map of introducing recommended shops and interesting spots.We posted the information of some shops which are located in back alleys and even on the second floor of the buildings.Let’s open their doors and there will be a new encounters.Please enjoy Taisho that is different from such as Namba area and Umeda area with the local map we made!
